Morning just right, evening meal is quite a fright

Well, my band is close but no cigar yet. I feel perfectly restricted in the morning, but so loose at night that I could eat anything.

This morning I ate at the breakfast buffet at the hotel and I was so happy to only want a cup of food. I took an entire plate of food out of habit, but just left it.

My problem right now is at night everything is pretty much slipping straight through. I could eat just about as much as I want, but am trying to control myself until my next fill. I will get my next fill next week.

ONE thing I have realized, is that for me getting a fill in the afternoon versus the morning is going to be a must. I wouldn't mind being so tight in the morning that I can just drink a protein drink, as this is all I usually have time for anyway, but dinner time is when I really need to be in complete control with a band. Getting the fill in the afternoon should get me closer to ideal restriction for that time of day.

Thanks for that...I've seen a TON of people discussing being tighter in the morning, but I hadn't even thought about/seen timing a fill so it's not in the morning...VERY GOOD POINT. Glad you're 'getting there'. -BG

I'm 7 days post-op my lap band and have lost 17 pounds, is this normal? I feel as if I'm starving myself and I went to GNC yesterday and almost passed out. Am I doing anything wrong. I have to go back to work on Monday I'm starting to think do I have enough energy.

Yep, it is normal....you are in bandster hell. It happens to most, I didn't have it so bad, but most do. Stick with the food your doctor has approved you for, it is very important for the future of your band.

I was easily tired, for the first 3 weeks. I felt normal if I wasn't doing anything, but just walking through a grocery store would get tiring. I think this is just as much from the surgery as the diet.

Look for anyway to get protein that is in the approved form from your doctor.

Thanks so much for clarifying, this for me. I was self pay and didn't think much into this i was just tired of loosing 50 pounds and then gaining it all back. My doctor said I can eat after 48 hrs soft foods and fish I've been fine with the meal plan. But he didn't tell me anything on protein drinks. I had a first yesterday from smoothie king and felt awful. I don't know if I drunk too much or what but I came home and went to sleep for 4 hours and really haven't moved too far from the bed today. But U haven't puked or anything so I think I'm doing good.

This is truly bandster hell as you call it. But I still feel positive about everything.
