Well I just returned from my first post-op surgeons appointment and the official scale says ( drum role please) 277 pounds! My official weight loss since my surgery on 02/05/2009 is 24.3 pounds. I am in the surgeons top 5 weight losers post-op. Yes that's right I am a loser, and I am dam proud of it! Now that I have my protein drink straightened out I am feeling better than ever. My surgeon wants me to continue on my liquid diet till next Wednesday, then hello mushies. I did speak with him about the comments the Nurses were making about his patients, and he was very, very upset. My surgeon does not know why discrimination against obese people is tolerated even amongst the hospital staff and that it is considered acceptable. He admitted that this is not the first time he has heard about the Nurses bashing his patients, and he assured me he was going hunting for Nurse ass this afternoon. Well enough about that nonsense, I could not be happeir right now, and I am even proud of myself. ( something I have not felt in a long, long time) I am in this for the long haul and I have even scouted out a gym for myself yesterday. Well I will keep you posted

24.3 pounds in 8 days??!! I don't even think RnY patients have that kind of loss! Awesome! I'm also really proud that you said something to the Dr. about the nurses...that took guts! -BG

I had replacement lab band surgery last monday and while in the recovery room a nurse who was asking if my husband could come in to see me while asking she made a gestere that he was very large/round. I guess she thought I was asleep. I was just reminded of this reading your blog. Congrats on the great weight loss. I'm down 70lbs with more to go, hopefully with this new band.

Congrats - I am a newbie so it is great to hear success stories! Hope my experiences with the nurses are better than yours!

Biker,

Way to go!! Your story really is inspiring. I am going to be banded on March 11, 2009. Hearing about your success helps me reassure my self on why I am doing this.

Way to go, Biker! Discrimination is never to be tolerated. If you don't point it out, the culprits think they can continue to do it.

Mind if I shoot you an envious glance or two for the weight loss?

Great job Biker!!! Congrats!!! I'm being banded on March 25th. I'm trying to decide what band to use. Which one do you have if you don't mind me asking. You're doing so great!!!
