Trying not to weigh...

I weighed myself today and saw exactly what I knew I would see: gained back 3 lbs. I was down -19lbs and now it's -16... but still, that's just two weeks and I was trying to think about it this whole time like it was being sick with the stomach flu ('cause that's exactly how it felt)... I KNEW when I felt better I would gain some back.

Still, it stung a little. I know it shouldn't.

I mean, I've only been banded for 2 and a half, almost 3 weeks.

I'm only now to where I feel good enough to move. I know after surgery they told me to start moving immediately, but I also only had pain meds for two days (they gave me tylenol w/ codiene and as my family history should have warned me... it made me vomit... a lot) so I hurt longer (at least in my opinion.)

I went mallwalking on Friday and I hate to admit it, but they were right... after I got moving I really did feel better. Kinda like the pain in my feet made my body forget that my side is still killing me.

I also see what they (they in all this refers to the surgeon/his office) mean about knowing when you need a fill. My first fill is in a little over a week and I guess they time it to where you will be feeling much better and probably thinking about returning to your old eating habits.

So yea, I can see how that will be helpful. I know now that the nausea passed, I'm not eating nearly as slowly as I should be.

We shall see.

Hi, sounds like you are doing good.

Are you still on a clear liquid diet on your 3rd week? Just wondering.

I was originally scheduled for surgery on 1/26, but my EKG was abnormal at pre-op, so....I am waiting for a reschedule. Hopefully will know this week! I have to take a stress test and echocardiogram (spelling?) Tuesday. Once test results are cleared then I'll be rescheduled.

I just joined the site in December and not sure how to get around on it...how about you?

OK first of all don't beat your self up... you have just begun this journey! Some days just the water weight sticks. You should be giving yourself a HUGE PAT ON THE BACK FOR WALKING @ THE MALL!! That is a huge step in the right direction! Just remember how good you felt afterwards next time you are thinking about avoiding walking.. wow great advice... should practice what I preach!! ~ Good Luck!! You Can DO IT!! ~ Kristi
