Well all you pre-op's BEWARE!!! lap-band is neither"minimally invasive" or"low risk" like they said.ANY SURGERY IS DANGEROUS! I went in mon.morning(1/19/09) and even though I had a temp. of 99.9 Dr. Owens of the Rancho Specialty Hospital of So.Cal. decided to go ahead w/surgery.(I'll try to make this short) surgery at 12pm into post-op at around 1p.m. took 2 hours to come out of anesthesia, as they rushed me out,(barely concsious) home at 3;30pm I felt very woozy, weak and very ill. at around 7pm Itried to get up to use the restroom and passed out cold!! my head slammed into the wall, my kids were hysterical and my husband freaked out of course. this happend 2 more times that night, anytime I tried to get up. We called the hospital, they told me not to get up just lay and rest next day called my surgeon who said "maybe you should come in" uh ya think so dumb-ass, went back at 12pm tues,(had to crawl to my car)they re-admitted me ran tests and gave me 2 blood tansfusions through the night, turns out they cut a blood vessel and I was bleeding internaly.today is thurs. I still feel like crap and wish I never did it. I was a healthy 38 year old, anything can happen!oh yah , I actually gained 5 lbs during this fiasco, if you can believe that! just make surgery your last option!

Bella,

What you have gone through is horrible. I hope you start feeling better soon. Once you get back to your old self I hope that you will start to look at the band as a good thing.

I'm sure the weight gain is all the fluids. This will pass and things will start to fall into place and off the scale. I think most of us feel like this was our last option. If I had one more diet in me I would have dieted. This was the lifestyle change that many of us need. I hope that everything becomes text book for you after this.

Remember all you have gone through to get the band. It isn't the band that created the problems...it was the surgeon and as much as we want to believe that our doctor is perfect we know that isn't possible.

I will keep you in my thoughts. Please keep us posted.
