2009 has been dedicated to changing my life! Never in my life have I been so heavy. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been heavy all my life but at the same time I had a very active childhood. While in high School I was on the basketball, track and field, and step team. I have always managed a way to keep active except for the last 5-6 years. Where did I go wrong? I know I started gaining lots of weight after leaving college. And yes I did gain the freshmen 20lbs (or more than likely 30lbs). In 2006 I had a baby, I gained 80lbs. (Yes!! That much! Baby girl was born 10.6lbs.) At the beginning of 2007 I was 415lbs! As of today I have only managed to lose 40lbs., the last 10lbs were lost this month. Last October I decided to go to informational about bariatric surgery. To my surprise I met lost of people that are in the same situation as me. Leaving the informational gave me a sense of hope. I can lose this weight. I have decided to under go the lap band procedure. With this I would have to completely change my lifestyle. And I am ready!

As of January 3rd, I have started a new way of life. I exercise everyday for at least 30 minutes. I am no longer eating fast food, fried food or soda. And to my surprise I could not believe how quick I lost the 10lbs. I have already done all my preoperative tests. My last hurdle is to have a psychological evaluation done which is next week. I am completely committed on having this life change. I am learning how to eat healthly, which in turn I will be teaching my children how to eat health.

With this New Year, new President, I hope to find a new me. Wish me luck!

I'm digging your name! You're beautiful already. I don't think with your attitude that you need much "luck." I thinking you're going to do great! Best wishes to you, and you're going to love being banded!
