I am getting really depressed. I’m starting my road to surgery. I have a consult schedule in 2weeks. I have already reached it and I even went on youtube and saw the whole surgery. So getting a consult is point less but protocol is protocol. I found out that with my insurance I would have to pay 600 to get my surgery done. That really upset me because I would have to push it back 21/2 months. I just want to get it done because im getting sick and tired of being a whale. I see everybody’s before and after pics and they look great and I can’t wait till it’s me. My best friend is getting married in September and I didn’t want to look like I did in my sisters wedding pics. I found myself very attractive and I think its weight that makes me very insecure. I am in a very deep depression. I have nice hair and it was long and now I just keep in a ponytail because it broke off so bad. I haven’t got my eyebrows down in a while I just want to break free of the feeling I’m I the only one feeling this way?:willy_nilly:

oh honey, you can do this. U are just having a feww bad days u will be ok soon. U will get this surgery and look better than ever injust a few. But trust me I know how u feel. I had to where a dress the other day for my sons baptism and I feel like I was going to hurt someones eyes by just looking at me. I love dancing and I wont go to clubs anymore cause a booger on the wall will get more attention than me, but soon this phase will be over n the best will come.

I really hear you Jessica. I was in the hospital this spring and it took having to get a special "bariatric" commode to use that finally pushed me to look into getting the surgery. I'm one month out and have lost a total of 36 pounds from the time I first saw the doctor 7/28/08 to now 11/08. I have been overweight/obese for a long time----maybe since about age 10? Wow...that's 40 years for me. I had missed so much in my life during those periods of time not so much because I was fat but because I thought since because I was fat I was of use for anyone/or anything in this world. When I started to believe in myself at the weight I was at (even though it was WAY TOO MUCH), only then was I able to think about changing. Hang on to at least one thing about yourself that you like...such as your eyes, or whatever. You will soon be on the other end of your lapband journey helping others who are just beginning. Hang in there! Your "sister" in lapband support....Jodi

I know how you feel. I had to postpone my for 6 months because my insurance didn't like the documentation from my dr supervised diet. So, I had to do it all over again. Seemed like forever. But I'm 2 weeks post-op and, after 2 weeks pre-op liquids and the post-op liquids, I am down 30+ pounds. You can make it! Just focus on the goal and the time will fly.
