This is my first blog on this forum after seeing a cardiologist today for heart palpitations. He said that because i am overweight my body is releasing adrenaline in apporopriatly. (something to do with hormones). Being that i also have PCOS, and a family history of heart problems and diabetes he reccomended that i look into bypass or banding surgery to loose weight since i have not had much sucess with dieting. I feel like i have been given a reality check. The time is now for me to loose this weight... So i have been scouring the internet all day for information, but nothing beats hearing peoples experiances first hand.... Lap band sounds like it might be a good choice for me, but i am praying that a proceedure like this would be covered by my insurance. It seems wherever i look that BCBS seems to cover in most cases people fall into a morbid obese range and i am there unfortunatly. So many questions and yet i feel i should have made this decison a year ago!

Welcome, go have a read on the main boards. Your questions have probably been asked, a lot. Read through some of the bolgs that have been around a while. Do your research. Find a band Dr (or a few) in your area and attend an information seminar- they all have them.

If you still have questions drop back and ask away!

Good luck on your journey,

Amanda
