Hello Everyone,

I would like to see if anyone has advice for me. I had my surgery on April 22, 2008. I lost 15lb before surgery and have only lost a grand total of 26pounds. They never explained to me that i would still be very hungry after i had this surgery. The first week after i was miserable. Ok fine i got over that. I was never able to eat chicken after the surgery ok fine i am over that. i had my first fill 6 weeks after surgery. It did nothing at all. My second and third fill was the same. I still felt hungry all the time:thumbdown: and could eat alot of food. although my choices are better i am still not loosing weight. I just had my fourth fill and i am at 7cc's in a REALIZE band. this fill has been very hard. The list of foods i CAN eat is very limited as aposed to the list of foods i can not eat. I have a hard time with eggs but if i have cereal for breakfast i am starving by 11am. I throw up alot and i dont ever feel full and i am not loosing weight. I have been eating good foods. i had eggs for breakfast, celery and cheese for snack, salad and yogurt for lunch and steak and beets for dinner. still starving. HELP!!! what do i do?

Wow you have had a rough time. I can pass on what I have learned from talking to others. I have found that many people with the Realize band need many fills to get to the point of restriction. I would suggest writing down what you are eating to see how much protein you are getting. Your right that when you get to that "sweet spot" you shouldn't be hungry so fast. I don't what foods seem to be your nemesis but remember not to eat with your meals, eat your protein first and follow it with veggie and chew, chew, chew. I find when I have enough protein it curbs my hunger.

Have you talked to you doctor about your problems? Has he give much advice. If you aren't getting support there maybe it is time to shop around for someone that can help you.

Good luck! Keep us posted.

I went to my doctor today because i am throwing up alot and he said because they only put 1cc in last time that he will not remove any. I told him that i haven't been eating much. Lately all i can eat is celery dry cereal and ground turkey, but it has to have sauce or it gets stuck. he said as long as i am getting liquids down he is not worried. I went for the fill on October 22nd and as of today 11/7/08 i lost 8 pounds. i thought thats alot in just 16 days. I will stick with it because i want to lose weight but to be honest I am miserable.

I am so sorry. I don't understand why he couldn't remove half of it. I think he would be worried about soft calorie syndrom. I would suggest starting in the moring with warm liquids. I've heard that can help loosen things up. If things continue like they are I would call him again. I don't understand docs that don't listen to their patients.

Hang in there. You can pull through this.

Thats what i thought too. When i first started looking for a doctor for the surgery he was wonderful. very nice, kind compasionate, he explained everything. Now i feel like ok surgery is over no more big bucks, get in get out go home. He didnt ask any questions nothing plus i heard him talking about me in the hall way. he even said my full name. so if i could hear him so could everyone else!!!! I felt like someone busted my balloon!! lol i felt so let down. Thanks for the support.
