I haven't had my surgery yet but I think that is normal, I think if you weren't scared THAT would be odd! You are making a major commitment to yourself, the fact that you are scared just means you realize what an important step you are taking. Good luck and hang in there, you are doing what's right for you and your health!

hi Suzi !

I booked my surgery and really everything went quickly so that 1 hour before surgery I was thinking .. oh my god what the hell have I got into ??? It's now one week later .. I've lost over 29 pounds in total and I feel fantastic and SO motivated to do this.

I did feel down 24 hours post surgery .. this is no small thing .. it's life changing .. it's permanent (for what we are trying to achieve anyway) and it's going to result in a new you with all the challenges that come with that

You will never look back .. I hope we can say in a year .. and see how far we've both come

You are going to do great - good luck on Monday

I meant I hope we can say HELLO in a year haha and see how far we've both come and how we feel then as opposed to all the confusion and uncertainty now !

I think it is completely normal, especially when you don't have that support. But like everyone here I am sure you've done the weight loss thing before and it DOESN'T work!!! We lose then gain back and usually more than we lost. As for me, I wasn't feeling too bad until they wheeled me into preop..then I started to get really nervous...I am 8 weeks post op and feeling so much better in myself, I KNOW I made the right choice! and though I have had moments of frustration, I know that I will get there in the long run.

This band is a journey of ups and downs and you are bound to have some downs again just remember that it is a long process, not a quick fix and at times you may be discouraged (the weeks of plateauing weight, waiting for those fills, gaining back due to no restriction), especially if you have that negativity! Just make sure you come on this site and get your support from here and from co workers if you can! finding that sweet spot will take time so hang in there. we will all get there in the end!

I love my band!

I went through the same thing the whole weekend before my surgery. I think that surgery is a lot harder when it is something elective. I am almost two weeks out and so glad I did it and am already feeling a lot better and healthier. Good luck to you and everything will go great!
