Hi to All - I just got banded on Sept 12 and am already down 20 lbs - looking to see if there are any lists of Doctors here in this area that will take band patients from out of the country in case of emergency and also to get fills - I know of the Lap Band USA in St Pete and also the Doctor in Orlando but they are not taking any new out of USA patients right now - Any help will be greatly appreciated - and also looking to meet others in this area - Best Regards - Amy

i live in west palm beach and there is a dr. Here at jfk medical center that will see patience from other country. Do you live in the us? Did you got out of the country to get your lap band? Because i am considering going to mexico and get it done. But i do not have any referrals.

Hi there -I live in Cape Canaveral - and I went to Mexico and had the Best Doctor in the world - I will give you all of the information you need - Iwould not go anywhere else - He is with Hospital Angeles in Juarez HOSPITAL ANGELES in Juarez, Mexico - I had Teri Biga [teri@beliteweight.com] www.belitemexico.com a facilitator that set everything up for me - go to the wesite and you can see the hospital and the team in Juarez - They do not make you loose the weight before hand either like these us docs - or put you thru that phy doctor either - as long as your BMI is high enough they will take you - the cost was 7000.00 and she even waved the fees - it was the cleanes hospital I have ever seen - We walked around for two days in white socks and they are still white you will be amased - I got a flight out with Continental airlines out of orlando round trip for 575.00 or so - it left at 7:20 am and arrived in Dallas and then into El Paso - we left on a Friday am and by the time I got to TX there was a really seet guy that picked all of us that were going in for surgery the same day - they took us over the boarder and we were at the hospital by around 11:30 MX time - 2 hour difference by the way - We were greeted at the hospital like we were stars and the check in was fast - we were in our rooms by around 12:15 and then Dr Rodriguez came in to meet us - we got prepped with an IV -and by 1:00 I was on my way - it was really easy - and I only had a little nervousness - you definatley need to take someone with you it will make it easier while there and on the way home - we were home by Sunday night - you will have alot of gas and gas pains but they go away quickly and you will need to walk walk walk while you are there it helps alot - I did and can tell you that I took the whole week off after the surgery and am glad I did for the healing process - I am now down 22lbs and it will be three weeks this Friday - I cannot tell you of any other way to get this done or by any other doctor - they also do not put you on that stupid 2 or 3 week diet before - the week before the surgery they give you a list of foods to try and stay with and to try and walk 30 mins a day before the surgery - if there is anything else that I can help with please let me know - Best Regards - Amy
