Since my surgery I have moved to Texas, and I have my lapband doc down here. But since I moved it has gone down hill, I am 16 years old and I am back up to probably 280, not good at all and I have lost alot of muscle because of my lack of protein. I am really disappointed in myself and can't stand to think about it. I just scheduled for another fill, I have three fills since my surgery, in 07. Hopefully this will be the start to get back on track.

I am about to turn 17, and plan on seeing my family in ohio soon, but before that my main goal is to lose more weight and look better because I am ashamed to go up there looking like this because I know there going to say in their heads "what happened?"

So I am doing school online, which doesnt help much but I can't go to regular school like I did in ohio because texas will make me a freshman when I am really a junior so here I am.

I am about to get my GED and either

1. go to Military- This would be my dream however, I really cant for two reasons, I may not be able to go since I had my surgery and number two, is a big one for me. I AM IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM in a healthy position to go through all the physical training it would be hell for me at my weight.

2. go to college, then law enforcement career.

In texas, I currently work with Arlington Polce Department Explorers, which is great. My goal is to get into law enforcement, work as a police officer then eventually gang unit and homicide detective. those are my dreams. If I can't go to the military I might go into US Border Patrol.

I know I am thinking alot right now about what I want to do but the field of law enforcement is my dream.

So here I am trying to get back on track. Re-motivated- Start over. And get back into shape like I was after I had my surgery.

So I am asking you for your advice, and help on how I can do this better.

I need motivation!

Thank you!

God Bless!

You must get moving. Work out as much as possible every day. Don't just do 30-40 minutes 3-5 times a week, do 60-120 minutes 6-7 days per week. I had my surgery in Dec-07 and lost approx 4.3 each month (some months nothing). My sister and I started going to the track at the local high school at 4:30am every weekday morning because we have kids and I have dropped 12 lbs. over the past month for a total of 81 lbs.

Right now you should have plenty of time to get out there and get it done. Also journal everything and I mean everything. Keep track of your calories and if possible get on the weight watchers points program.

Good luck, you can do it!

    • I’ve used my Xbox for exercise games too and it can be pretty motivating, especially on days when I don’t want to leave the house. Kinect games really do make you move, and after a session with kickboxing or dancing, I always feel like I’ve actually gotten a solid workout. The controller-free setup feels way more natural for workouts than anything I tried on the Wii. Zumba is fun but definitely takes a little time to get the moves right. Lately, when I’m not working out, I spend time trading CS2 skins and finding new guides on this link. There’s a lot of interesting tips if you’re into games outside of fitness too.

      Einarmige Banditen
