Its Been 5 months 7 days since my surgery. I have only lost 3olbs. I still have to diet like i did before the surgery which makes it so hard. i thought if i had this surgery i didnt have to go through all the same dieting counting calories. If i knew all this i would have just went on a diet with out scars and surgery :frown:. I'm so tired and upset :cursing: i should have just went with the gastric bypass surgery and not the lapband. Now i have to go through the fills and all the bloating and all the other complications i'm going through. I'm just Tired !

Geena-

How many fills have you had? Fills are the key to losing with the band (for me anyway). Have you had a heart to heart with your doc?

It might feel like all the other times but this time you probably won't gain it all + more back.

As for the bypass- ya it's faster but the other stuff-malnutrition, gas, constipation, stinky poop, stinky farts. Nope I'll take the band over that any day.

Im a slow loser too. I hate looking at those scars too. But we are here now. You have to trust that you made the most correct decision at the time. Work with what you have. Get another fill. Talk to your Dr.

Good luck on your journey,

Amanda

don't get discouraged...... you only fail when you quit ...... you need to balnce diet ,band restriction and exercise together to succeed... the lap band is not the only solution.... it is one of the 3 tools to help you get to your g

oal...your body needs to get healthy nutrition to succeed ..

i made a promise to myself when i had the lap band..... I promised myself that i would never abuse my body the way i had in the past......keep on plugging ... this is a great journey we are now taking...

Do you attend a support group Geena? That is so very helpful and much needed for anyone making this life change.

I never went to any support groups, I was not aware of the info given at these support group meetings. too late i already had the surgery. My surgery was in april since then i have lost 45 pounds, since the last time i posted a blog i have lost about 15 pounds, but i think it has to do with the Phentermine my MD gave me. that really controlls my appetite I dont even think about food at all. some side affects like feeling jittery. I wanted to know if any one knows what are the symptoms of Slipage? My stomach has been hurting me alot lately and i have been throwing up as well more frequently.

Geena-

I just had surgery for band slippage....my symptons were bad acid relfux...at night when i was lying down i would cough and then throw up into my mouth (could hardly make it to the bathroom). It was terrible. I was fine during the day...only trouble at night. After the surgery i feel much better but still not 100%..go see your doc and talk to him/her about your symptons
