Disgusted!!

I haven't posted in a while, but what better place to rant? I'm so disgusted!

My 5 month bandiversary is next Tuesday and I've only lost 40 pounds. I'm not too worried about the weight however, it's the inches I want to loose. And I've lost inches, 5.5 in my waist and 6.5 in my hips. This is all great, I realize, but now I've really upped my exercise and I feel like I'm not budging!!!! I do at least 45 minutes of jogging 5-6 times per week. I do 1 1/2 hours of weight lifting twice a week. I eat well and track my meals on dailyplate.com. I feel like I'm doing my part, but my body isn't cooperating!!!

My waist is very small, but my lower abdomen and hips are not. If I find pants that fit my hips, they are huge in the waist. I've always had a figure like this, but in the past I've been more proportional. My size 16s feel like they are going to fall off, but 14s don't fit yet. My favorite pair of jeans are 16W and I can't get into them, not even close!! WTF?!? I feel disgusting and I hate it!!

I know I've come a long way, but I have so far to go. This is the first emotional low I've experienced since being banded. It's so discouraging to be working so hard and still see a disgustingly fat person in the mirror! Shit!!!!

What you may be incountering is a plato...its not a bad thing but its where your body is adjusting to all its change, and as you may not be losing inchs or lbs you may be gaining muscle as well. I could be wrong but I use to be a weight loss consultant at one time in my life believe it or not lol. Youll do fine. As soon as your body catchs up with your fantastic weight loss it will loss again, you have to also realize the less you have to lose the harder it is to lose it.

Chin up youre doing wonderfully!

Congrats for what youve done thus far!

40lbs in five months is amazing! That is 8lbs a month and 2lbs a week! That is how much you are supposed to lose with the band! I just think of it this way when I feel like its not falling off fast enough. If you continue to lose the way you are in 7 months, which will be your 1 year anniversary you will be down 56lbs more!!! That is 96lbs for the year!!! That is amazing!!

Thank you all for your comments! You are all right. And logically I know this, but sometimes your emotions don't want to listen to your brain!

And BubblyBandit, you are right that I need to look at the big picture. I haven't done that in a while. This is the same advice I would have given to someone else who was in my situation. That's my ultimate goal, 100 lbs in a year. I may not make it by my bandiversary, but I know that even if I don't ever loose another pound, I'm so much healthier and happier already than I was 5 months ago.

So again, thank you for all of your help and kind words. I'm over my pity party and I'll keep marching on. :(
