My surgery is next Monday and they want all banders to stay overnight. Is this common for other surgeons?

Depends on your doc. My doc is starting to let some people go home the same day. I have no major medical problems, so I was told to plan to be at hospital prob at 6am and get released that evening.

Sam....Your too funny "miss can I see your port"LOL I know I have issue's!LOL I almost went bypass just because of that darn port!(:

You need to change your profile settings so I can show you some love on your page!LOL You have it set so that no one can leave you messages or even send a private message to you threw here.

My surgery date is August 6th at 9:30am. Gosh Diane is already done and they should be getting ready to start on Candance right now! You have only 5 more days!!!(:

I'm glad were staying overnight, I'd rather be watch over during the first night and get alittle time to adjust to the new port!(:

My Dr. didn't require an overnight stay, but my insurance company did. I was upset at first - but glad after the fact. It is kind of nice having people wait on you. My Hospital was totally posh - better than any hotel I have ever been in. So I LIKED it!

My Dr required an overnight stay. I didn't need to stay, I was fine and had help at home.

The insurance co. is another matter. They did not OK the overnight stay and are not going to pay of it. Dr and Ins are fighting it out.

I'm seeing more and more on LBT how folks are not staying over.

The final say is your Dr.

Good Luck on your journey.

Well I am getting better at staying there. I agree with ajoneen in that I don't think I need it, but, I guess I am lucky in that my insurance is paying for it. So with a grateful heart, I will enjoy the start of this journey.
