I had my lap band surgery on June 27th in Omaha, NE. It is my understanding they do not fill the band right away. You must wait 10 days, during which time you are to be on a full liquid diet. I am really struggling with this liquid diet. I am not loosing any weight. My scale does match the scale at doctors but I believe I have lost about 2 pounds. Very disappointing. :confused2:

Don't worry, it will come off. I thought it would take me forever to lose a pound in the beginning. When you are barely drinking or eating any calories you think the pounds should melt off. Sometimes you lose quick and sometimes you lose slow. Just hang in there, the numbers will drop.:)

Elaine,

My doc filled mine during the operation. I'm already at 3cc. He did that because I'm leaving the country in three weeks, and he wanted to get one more fill in before my departure.

Things will come off. Maybe try some walking or mild exercise, and see if that helps. Your body might have gone into starvation mode, and is holding on to everything you're consuming.

Six weeks sounds more like it. You have to give your stomach time to heal. Just hang in there.

Tuesday Aug 5th, I will get my first fill. I am anxious but a little scared. I already tried eating two things that got stuck. Wow, was that painful!! Now I am afraid of peanut butter. I have tried little pieces of bread and that seems to be ok now.

Since my pre-surgery 90 diet I have lost 29 pounds. I was hoping for a little more but I am really ok with that.

I have found this website to be VERY helpful. I read the postings and gain knowledge and new optimism.

I was banded June 28th. Counting the pre-surgery diet I have lost a total of 24 pounds and nearly all of that was the pre-surgery diet. In the beginning I was NOT doing any extra walking or exercising. For about a month now I have added 2-3 times up six flights of stairs and recently some jogging on one of those small trampoline joggers. Nothing happening yet.

It seems recently some days I can eat ok, minus of course the foods that no longer agree with me, (chicken, steak, eggs, tortillas, bread), other days I cannot even eat oatmeal without vomiting. Those days everything I eat is so painful if I am not vomiting , I am praying to.

I am so disappointed with myself.
