Could this be Restriction?

Well, as those that follow my blog know, I have had fill after fill and no restriction. My last fill was May 29th and nothing. UNTIL . . . last Friday. Normally, I feel a little restriction first thing in the morning, not enough to stop me from eating, but some. Then nada the rest of the day. So, normal day, I had spicy V-8 juice for breakfast, went to the gym with a friend. Afterwards we decided to go for Mexican Food. So, I ordered Grilled Chicken Nachos. Now, a week ago, I could have eaten the entire plate and would have eaten 1/2-3/4 the plate (showing some restraint

;-). I ate maybe 4 bites and felt stuffed. At first it scared me, I was like, uh-oh, I must have taken too big a bite, but nope. I was just really full.

I kept thinking it was probably a fluke. That evening, I could eat almost like normal, but a little bit of restriction.

Day 2 - Saturday. We had a birthday party for my Godson (he is 2 and too freakin cute). We had hotdogs, chips and cake. So, I ate some Cheetos while the hot dogs were cooking. Got my hot dog, sat down, took 3 bites BAM, I was full! It was awesome. However, it didn't stop me from having a slice of cake about an hour later, but I felt that same full feeling again after the cake (and it was a very small piece).

So, I have a Dr.s appt this Wednesday for a fill. I just called the office and told them my story to see if I needed to cxl my appt or keep it. They told me to keep the appt and see how I feel that morning. (I thought that was super nice of them, I was trying to give them time to fill the appt slot). So, I will keep it and cxl that day if it stays this good.

I feel like the luckiest girl ever. I was kinda thinking that I would never get restriction and be a lapband failure.

I'm glad that your starting to fill some restriction, are you still down your 20 pds...or have you lost more?

I wonder why it took almost 3 weeks to fill it? I'll be looking forward to reading about the out come.(:

I have lost a total of 27lbs. BUT, I workout at the gym every single day and I truly believe that I haven't had much help from the band thus far. I am so excited at the thought that this may work for me! I really was getting discouraged!

I know what you mean...with my luck I know that's going to happen to me! I'm kind of second guessing my decision as far as what surgery I should go with. Although with lab band most likely to keep it off vs. the other.

If you have money, you can do both. I know a lot of people who have RNY, lose their weight, then when they start gaining it back, they get the lapband. I was too scared of the more invasive procedures. So this was my only choice.

I had my first fill 2 weeks ago. 4 cc in a 14cc band. I am soooo tight in the a.m. I don't even try to eat anything until after noon. But even then, a lot has been getting stuck. By night everything goes down pretty easy, except I am full pretty quick. I am lucky to eat half of what I used to. It is wild. But something still in my head says I should still be eating, how can we be full after a few bites??? That damn little voice in my head. That's what got me fat in the first place. Its sad to see how I allowed food to get such a handle on me and my emotions. I always thought I was stronger than that. Oh well.....new chapter. Hang in there sweetie. Congrats on the restriction...YAY!!!!!!!

Thank you! I am pretty excited, I still have it. I canceled my Fill for tomorrow and rescheduled it for July 9th, just in case it doesn't last. I am a little scared because my worst time to eat is supper and in the evening and I have no restriction then, but I have been making myself slow down and eat smaller amounts. Just the fact that I am eating 1/3 for lunch of what I used to has to help!

I was having the same issue, two fills with not a lot of restriction - until the last one. Wow! I can hardly keep anything down, even liquid. I really have to be careful and listen to my body. The weight is falling off. No hunger, just hard to get in all of that protein. But I've lost 50 pounds in 2 1/2 months! Yahoo! I feel great! So glad I made the decision to have my band done.

Wow, you really give me hope. I would be happy with 1-2 lbs a week! I am losing, but it is taking a couple of weeks to see the scare move a 1 lb. Thanks for the encouragement!
