Hi,

I AM 3 WEEKS POST AND HAVE A PORBLEM. WHERE THE PORT IS INSTALLED IS STILL SWOLLEN AND BRUISED.

I SLEEP ON MY STOMACH AND THIS DOES NOT HELP, BUT I WOULD THINK ALL SWELLING AND DISCOLORATION WOULD BE GONE BY NOW.

CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF THEY HAD SIMULAR EXPERIANCES

I am two weeks post-op and am still having a lot of port pain too.

I have had no bruising but the pain is pretty bad. I am a stomach sleeper but have not been able to sleep on my stomach since the surgery, I sleep on my back on the sofa in a semi-propped-up position otherwise I will wake up in bad pain. I usually feel OK in the morning and the pain gets worse as the day goes on. I have overall swelling on my stomach (my tummy feels firm instead of its normal squishy feeling) The actual incision burns and I have a bruise like feeling accross my entire waistline. The incision is not particularly red or oozing so I guess it is OK

It took about 6 weeks to 2 months for all the swelling and bruising around my port to heal. It sucks, but it takes time.
