Second Guessing

I have been very discouraged lately. Second guessing my decision to get the band and wondering if perhaps I should have gotten the bypass.

The scale has not moved down since April 11(not counting the times it has gone up then down, back to the 4/11 weight). I had a fill on May 2, 1 1/2cc in a 4cc band. I have been working out with a trainer and doing the cardio. I have no soft stops, hard stops, BPs, anything. I "could" eat anything I want but manage to eat well most of the time. Although Sunday I had a whole NY bagel for Gods sake, that is not supposed to be possible. I have been journaling foods. Not drinking with or after meals. Its like I don't have the band in at all. Except for the scars and the golfball that is sticking out of my stomach(aka the port).

I have reminded myself of why I chose the band over the bypass- recovery time, malabsorption issues, reversible. But Im starting to think about the bypass in a new light.

Im thinking maybe I should have done some more research. Talked to some more people.

If I had the bypass there is no way a bagel could go down.!!!

I am not happy.

(on the Drs scale I have only lost 9lbs in the first 10 wks after surgery. I lost 5lbs in the first week. Do the math this is not working!!!!:cursing::smile2::cursing::cursing: )

oh my gosh, we could be twins! I could still eat a whole bagel post lap band---I know I lost 10lbs in 8 weeks and then found it all again, currently I am 4cc in a 10 cc band and i feel good although, I have to control my intake, i was a 5cc's and i got sick and had the foam and it was gross, now I dont get sick, but I know when I have had enough, but I still feel like I can eat a lot, too much for being banded honestly. good luck.

I feel the same way.... I was banded 2-29 and I have lost anywhere between 15-20lbs give or take a few. I do workout and I am getting positive responses from the people around me. I thought that I would have lost more weight than this, but I am losing lots of inches. I finally got a fill that I was happy with and I think that it was the fill with the xray.... I will never have a fill the other way. I have 8cc in I guess my 14cc band. Believe it or not I got better restriction with 6cc then 7cc(strange). I just try to take it one step at a time and remember that this band is a tool. I have to still workout which is not a problem, I am a gym rat and was before the band. I just think that my metbolism is super slow.... I hope that you do not give up and remember that you can do this and the band will not do it alone. Be proud that you took your health into you own hands!!!!!!

One more thing..... I know people that have had the bypass and they may lose the weight faster, but the side effects are somewhat bad. I do not mean to put the bypass down at all because it has helped many people, but I have not had any side effect that I have not caused myself(feeling lucky and tried to eat a chilidog....not smart). I have realized that it was me and not my band.... ok I am getting off of my soapbox.....PEACE
