so here i am, 3 weeks in- 19.7lbs down..feeling good, proud of myself, ready to DO this...

my two very best friends are skinny bitches. well let me rephrase, one can be a bitch lol and the other is so supportive i feel like i can talk like a big girl in front of her (you know what i mean..waking up in the am planning my dinner..thinking about snacks right after i ate...the stuff i've hide my entire life).

i'm going out to eat tonight for the very first time. i'm going somewhere healthy, bonefish grill, and plan to get grilled fish. i was talking to my girlfriends and mentioned that i might bring a small weight watcher scale with me just in case if they cannot tell me how much my fish weights (because i can EAT if i don't weight it--no fills yet).

the one laughed a little and said- whatever it takes my love to help you. perfect answer.

the other laughs, but in the bitch way, and acts as if i'd be making a scene. she says "you cannnn't bring a scale..common..this is a restaurant." ok thank you, like i didn't know. i just simply said "if it's a problem don't come." NEVER stood up for my "cause" like that before.

Why is it that some people act like they are supportive...but when it comes right down to it- no one gets "it" like another who is in your shoes.

I suppose it's easier to be friends with "THE BIG GIRL" well too bad skinny bitch...i'm going to be coming to your category one day.

YOU go girl! I know how you feel. Most of my friends, sister's are not pencil thin, but haven't had any weight issues and if they don't like what it takes to get to the NEW me, then I will be just like you... IN your face, deal with it!

Nice to see some sassiness on here! LOL

I often get much sarcastic remark from skinny women I consider to be my friends and co-workers. I honestly believe I get those remark because at the end of the day they are jealous. They are also aware of the fact that, the only flaw they can judge me on is my weight, I think they realize once I am skinny they no longer will have that something wrong to look at and I think that worries them. So it may be the same for you, you may be such a great person and your friend make those catty remark because she realizes once you lose weight you will no longer be “ her fat friend”

Let me tell ya. My "best" friend is 5'3'' and weighs 110 pounds soaking wet. And I noticed that right after my surgery, she was starting to withdraw from me a little. Finally, last week, I confronted her and asked her what was wrong and to my shock, she told me that she had always really seen me as the fat person, and now that I'm losing she doesn't really know. Then, she said that she felt like being with me when I was (and still am, for a while, anyway) fat makes her feel better about herself.

She told me this to my face. We have been friends for 10 years. I am hurt by this. I know part of me should tell her to shove it, but I am still a little bewildered. I'm also MAD. I havent spoken to her since this conversation, though she has called several times....WHAT SHOULD I DO??

i'm sorry to hear others are in my situation. i'm am CONVINCED that ms. skinny bitch will not be my friend once i get thin and fabulous!

we went to dinner and she was very odd...distant...and quite frankly i don't care if me losing weight makes her jealous! She made a remark at dinner when i split up my meal and packed some of it away as soon as i got it...she said "well won't you ...like...feel full" with that judgemental face.

I almost jumped over the table. :rolleyes2:

The only "flaw" she has been able to judge you on has been your weight all this time. She is getting ready to lose that and realizes it might just make you a better person than her and it scares her! Society in general looks down on fat people, and I have found that because of that, some people think if they have just one fat "friend" there will always be someone around who looks worse than them, no matter they do. Very sad, inded. Keep working the plan and losing weight and just walk away. One day you will be healthy, thin and fabulous and she will see you and in her heart know that you are indeed everything she is not. And be sure to let the "good" friend know how much you appreciate her understanding and support.

Good luck and congratulations on your band!
