Losing my blog virginity

Okay, lets see. This is the first time I've ever blogged. I'm going to have to try and channel my inner writing goddess. I don't think I have one though. Oh well.

I was banded on Jan 7, 2008. I have done really well health wise so far. The surgery and recovery were a breeze.

I lost a lot of weight the first week after my surgery. I have not done so well with weight loss since. I've lost about 8 pounds in 5 weeks. I guess thats okay and well within standard, but I know I could do better.

I eat stuff that I shouldn't, not often and especially not as often as before, but I do it nonetheless. I haven't been exercising like I should be, I'm working up to working out though! I get general exercise throughout the day, I just haven't made myself get on that treadmill yet.

I too am blogging for the first time as I type. I had my procedure on Feb 4, 2008 and have lost 22lbs. Ten pounds I lost before surgery and the rest since.

So if you are not going to keep this thing real from the start then I ask you why did you even do it then? Eating what you shouldn't and not exercising is an excuse. You have to want this for yourself.

We all are going to fall off the wagon eventually but so soon? Rededicate yourself and try again. This surgery was not the easy way out for any of us. I see this as the hardest thing I have ever done. Get back on the wagon or this road to weight loss and a new life may take your whole lifetime!

You're right about me making excuses, but those excuses are to myself, not anyone else. I know that I'm not an old pro at this but my goodness, you've been banded for a little over 2 weeks. You're dedication hasn't even been tested yet. Please don't judge me so soon. Just because I've eaten a cookie once a week doesn't mean I'm not committed. Trust me.

Congrats on your initial weight loss. I wish you the best in the future.

You've eaten a cookie once a week? is that it? gezz I've done worse!! You will come into yourself with the band in time.. I've been preached to by some really interesting folks.. some heavier than I ever thought of being, some thinner that I'll ever want to be... The best part is getting together with yourself and finding just the space you need to be in.. I was banded in January.. I struggle, I want to eat, I want to drink a glass of water, not sip it, I want it all and be a size 8!! but I ain't stupid either.. I can dream, and those dreams are turning into distance clouds.. I've lost 44 pounds (before & after surgery).. I'm stuck I think. I won't have a fill for a couple more weeks. I have an incision sore that needs to heal, so my fill may be later.. I'm using pure will power to keep to my task.. So I've eaten chips, ice cream, some junk food <-- as I would call it.. So don't beat yourself up, you're doing good, you had the surgery, you're starting out.. NO ONE is perfect here, hang in there, find your space to get balanced with what is going on... you've had surgery.. nothing is perfect starting out.. I'm still trying to find that spot in the bed where I can sleep comfy.. and sometimes sitting (riding in a car) is difficult.. I understand that a pound a week is average.. I'm hoping for that. I didn't do that before the surgery.. I could gain a pound in a week, if not more.. I just started exercising, I haven't had the energy. I know it will all come to me, just like it will come to you.. Hang in there.. That sweet spot is coming.. be patience and just start tomorrow again and everyday after if you have to.. You'll get there...
