I know this is going to sound gross.... I am 9 days post op and am constipated. I have tried a heating pad, warm liquids, walking, water... I mean I have been eating under my calorie goal and have been walking daily so I SHOULD be losing but I have been constipated these last few days so the scale is not reflecting by good behavior! HELP!

Three words, sister: Milk of Magnesia. I had the exact same problem and in fact my doctor suspected some of my shoulder pain was because of the lack of a bowel movement. A little MoM will get things "flowing" so-to-speak and back on the right track.

I agree with heavyheartland. Milk of mag. works well (I discovered it after delivering c-section). I was also quite constipated after surgery. I talked to my doc about it and he said making sure to drink the 48-64oz of water I was supposed to would help. But also once I got to start eating more regular food everything started coming out just fine.

Best of luck to you.

I just had that problem and I used baby food... pureed prunes... there are no additives... worked perfectly!! Good luck!
