My Lap band story is a whirlwind....literally.

I went to the seminar with my husband sometime in May of 2007. I faxed my insurance info in and then received the bad news.

MY INSURANCE SUCKS!!!! I would have to pay 50%, have it at the hospital instead of the Same day surgery center, pay all of my deductibles + a bunch of other stuff.

It ended up that self pay= the same as insurance paying but without the wait and see game.

I was called on June 17th to come in and see the doc on June 23 for my 1st preop visit. I weighed in at a whopping 256.6 LBS. Thats a lot for a 4'11" gal like me. They estimated then that I could get down to 164. (Hey, I'll take it) My surgery date was scheduled for 7/23/07.

So after I went to the nutrionist and the psychologist, I met with my aftercare coordinator.

My surgery went so well. I never had any nausea, and I still have over half of my pain meds left. I also never really had alot of pain, mainly just some discomfort and the pain of not being able to hold my 2 year old dd.
