Lapband journey
I am 40 years old, soon to be 41. I started thinking about wls two years ago and actually wanted to have Gastric Bypass. I had no co-morbidities so my ins. would not cover it. At that time I weighed 262. I now am up to 280. I am 5'9" and at the highest weight I have ever been. I actually am glad that I didn't get the bypass surgery, because I think for me the lapband is a better choice.
I have two sons ages 6 and 4 and am horrified that one day they will be embarassed when another child talks about how fat their mommy is.:cry
I am self pay, my husbands company switched ins. and they don't cover wls so I couldn't even try to see if I would qualify for lapband surgery. My Dr. is Dr. David Dyer in Nashville. I really like him,I have been to the seminar and had my consult with him. I have to schedule my psyche evaluation and hopefully in the next three weeks will be having surgery. Not really sure what to except having the psyche evaluation. Should be interesting.
