I had my phone appointment with Paula yesterday. She was very helpful! I was pretty nervous about the pre op diet because of past experiences with Atkins. Every time I have ever tried Atkins I got violently ill, and was worried that I would get sick before surgery this time. She said that is will be okay for me to still make my smoothies in the am with veggies and FRUIT! That is so good, I thought that I might just have to have veggies in it but I can still add the fruit. If the fruit in the am is not enough and I start to feel sick she said that I can add half a slice of bread or a cracker… just to keep it down. If I loose weight the first week then I am on the right track. I plan to not eat bread/crackers in less I really have to. But I do hope that by keeping fruit in the meal plan that I will be good to go. She also answered my question about the South Beach Diet frozen meals.. those are a great choice on the pre op diet. Having the SBD frozen meals will help me a lot with my odd ball work schedule.
