No more thinking my friend you gotta do it. It will change your life and you will be so happy you did. I only wish I had gotten it done sooner. Ready 4 A Change in Tijuana, Mexico with Dr. Garcia is the best. They treated me like a queen they attended to our every wish every second, nurses in my room every hour. I went on a Sunday, stayed in Marriott, they picked me up from Airport, took us to Marriot, next morning on Monday had surgery at noon at stayed in hospital there for 3 days they attended to me and others every hour on the hour. I did not have any complications, I actually was skipping down the hall way right after surgery feel so light and freeeeee freeeeee. My challenge the first month is learning how to eat, chew food, small portions even though my head wants large portions and favorite foods. I love my life now more than food. Before I loved food more than my life.....I feel so happy that I eat like a skinny girl now. I have learn to buy small meals or share with others, I take half home and that is great, if I eat half. I have never lost weight since I gained it and in 10 weeks I am down 33 pounds it use to take me 6 months to loose 2 lbs serious....do it, do it now, please you wont regret. Now I eat my favorite some things I dont like any more like chicken....amazing how I love fish and ground turkey and soft steak now...love, love it. I love yogurt, cottage cheese and regular cheese on everything and I keep loosing weight, amazing....I can eat salads now....3-4 bites but I still eat what I love Now...10 weeks post op. I tried a lot early on and eat and drank and totally threw up. Warning eat first 30 minutes later drink beverage, no soda's, flavored waters, I did try alchol martini but to early celebrating but now, I love my sleeve...I feel beautiful again.

Hope this encourages you.

You said 10 weeks out and you are able to eat what you want just small portions? You say cannot have flavored water that is what I drink almost 100% of time, I gave soda up in 2009. I just want to make sure that I will be able to eat and drink normal just smaller portions. You can drink alchol or not?

Hi @TearBear,

I think you answered your own question… you're a sugar addict and an emotional eater which means you're going to need a tool in your journey as drastic and powerful as the forces working against your success.

Before I committed, I decided that for me, I couldn't live the life I wanted if I stayed big. My weight was hurting me in big and small ways. It hurt that my PCOS means my husband and I struggle with having kids… all the way to it hurt when young children look at me weird and when I dread going clothes shopping and when I have to ask for the seat belt extender in the plane.

Is being physically limited in portion hard sometimes? Truthfully yes, I went out to lunch with my boss and he's like wow that's all you're eating. I just told him i'm on a disciplined diet (TRUTH! lol) Would I love to go to an all you can eat pig bar and chow down sometimes? Sure.

But am I willing to give up that for a healthy life with better health, better looks, better physical relationships, more confidence, more energy, more joy, more opportunities to do the things i want to do. It's a trade, but one that was worth it for me, I'd do it again in a heartbeat and I regret not doing it sooner.

Good luck to you in making your decision for yourself.

It took me 10 years and many, many, many failed attempts of dieting on my own before I was finally willing to have the surgery, but I am glad I did. Could I do this on my own? Maybe. Would it last? No. My deciding factors were simple for me (when I finally go there!) - two people lose the same amount of weight - one with surgery, one on their own - both are seemingly healthy. However, the person who DIDN'T have the surgery is still at a much higher risk of weight related diseases than the one who had the surgery. That was pointed out to me by a physician and the decision was made for me. I am just a week post-op, but no regret whatsoever!!!
