I started this to help me and help other, with a place to tell me and everyone what is going on. I just got my surgery date and is happy and sad to loose a friend. Thats my first BAD joke, I just can not image myself thinner... So, send me your good or bad stories. I will do that when and if they happen for me.

Hi I am three weeks post op and from my experience it has been the best thing I have ever done. I paid for my operation and before I struggled with myself as to whether I should spend it or not. Now I can say Yes....yes...yes. I have lost two stone already and have been blown away as to the things I can now do. I can go down stairs like normal people not one foot then bring the other foot down to it. I can put boots on without any problems at all and its early days yet.

With regards to the op I was 60 yrs old I had diabetes/cholestrol/sleep apoenia

fybromyalgia. I used to 4 injections a day plus 2000mg Metformin. To date I haven't taken any diabetic medicine. I might need a tablet but we are waiting to see what happens as the weight drops off. I'd say go for it........

The worst bit is the 2 week liver shrinkage diet..Don't cheat because it is vital you do it. Your operation should be easier if you do it properly..mine did.

Good luck it will all be worth it in the end

I loved your joke! It was funny. I had my surgery a year and 2 months ago. I had many ups and downs, I would do it again. I too had high cholesterol, blood pressure, sleep apnea, and was per diabetic. The only one instill battle is High blood pressure (hard to fight with genetics).

The two week pre op diet was tough (mainly because I wanted to kill those who were eating in front of me). I lost 18lbs from that alone. The liquid diet after surgery was tough for me. Not because I was hungry (I still don't feel hunger) but because I wanted to hew something. I found iced helped AND helped with the water intake.

If there is ANY advise I can give its STAY HYDRATED! It's crazy the problems it causes. If I don't get a minimum of 70-80 oz a day, I feel like crap.

Good luck, you about to embark on an amazing journey!!
