Clothes, clothes, and more clothes

Oh my gosh, I went into the attic to take down my old clothes......I knew I probably had 2 sizes worth......I really wasn't ready for what I found up there......it looks like a hoarder got a hold of my hallway.....

I don't know how well you can see it, but these are most of the clothes that were in the attic....yes there are more (but not much)......the pile is about 7 feet long, and 2 feet high, and most of it is in those space age vacuum bags.....yikes!

Now, I have 45 minutes to find a home for it before DH comes home and has a cow (he is as neat as they come) LOL

The question is do I 1) quickly hide them; 2) fess up; or 3) throw them into the car and madly drive to Goodwill, drop them off and buy what I need as I lose weight? I'm kind of liking the last idea, except is in direct conflict with my typical frugal nature..... :D

I don't know what made me do it today, other than I have the energy to do it.....I suppose I should have vacuumed instead LOL It's hot as anything up there, and now I'm soaking....I have water droplets on my glasses..

So, here's the picture......blurry as it is

Just load the car. I see your surgery is coming up soon. These clothes won't fit you after the first 2 months. Shopping is so fun after. I gave over 100 lbs to st Vincent DePaul and started afresh. Now I am outgrowing some of the newer things and had to buy smaller again. Just enjoy the trip. I also am tight but I still got rid of everything and started over. I will never be in those large sizes again. Have fun, it is a once in a life time experience.

I agree with Mokee -- go ahead and get rid of them. Maybe take a QUICK paw through them and pull out a couple of special things, but get rid of the rest. As you progress on your weight loss journey, you will have earned the right to buy new things :)

I agree, get rid of them. I too have a frugal side. Some of the women on here do Goodwill, thrift shops, or consignment stores, while losing weight and dropping sizes.

I need some clarification: Are you in a hurry to get rid of the clothes because you want them gone or because you're afraid of your husband's reaction?

And forget going to the Goodwill, I'm pretty sure you could open one of your own!

Open my own store, too funny. The original purpose was to pull them out, wash, dry, and hang them downstairs by size (we have a huge area for that)......however I didn't realize how much was up there......

About the hubby.....I didn't want him to come home and walk in on that mess in the hallway......I put it in the spare bedroom....I fessed up, showed him the piles of clothing...he just laughs at me.....I'll go through it...I did see sizes 20-14 (which I think would serve me well for a few months after surgery)....but who knows how dated they are LOL

Thanks everyone!

At least you're organized. I've got six sizes of too small clothes in 3 different buildings we own. I probably won't be able to find the size I need before it gets too big!

DH stands for Dear Husband.

I went through the basement, there were about 12 of those big Rubbermaid bins, I resurrected some of my favorites. Some had been in storage so long that the elastic in the waist bands were rotted. There were a lot of nice work clothes that still had tags on and never had been worn. That way when I do buy a few new things I just tell DH that they were in the basement. Hehe... what he doesn't know won't hurt him.

Sherri, you're too funny! I did check the elastic on something and it was good.....but I was thinking about that, too....I have some gorgeous suits I used to wear to the office......If they are still in good condition, those are something I'd keep
