Boredom Eating?

So it’s 8pm and I just realized that the only thing I have eaten today was a bag of turkey bites and a protein bar. These past 2 weeks or so I have just been eating for no apparent reason. I am not sure how to stop the boredom eating. I’m pretty sure that is how I ended up this big. My boyfriend out of all people brought it to my realization because we got into an argument and he said it seems like all you want to do is eat and lay around. Reality sat in and it actually made me cry. I am responsible for 50% of my surgery bill and I feel like I am throwing money out the window. I am not mad at him he just put it out there. Well I got on the scale and yes I have been just eating since I am up 10 lbs. I pretty much just went back to my old ways and ate carbs and felt sick every day because of it. I have also eaten for no reason and when I am not hungry. I can’t just eat when I am not hungry because it turns into over eating or making bad choices. I also notice I feel pretty weak so I ordered some protein off line and been drinking more hopefully this kicks my ass back into gear…

It is the first step to acknowledge what you are doing and you are. Next step is to replace your bad behaviors with good behaviors. Do what ever your boyfriend wants to do, I have to do that with my fiance so I do not get lazy. I feel better after. Before, I prefer laziness. Make a goal to get your head in the game. Don't avoid life. See what is out there for you! Remember," comfort is a want not a need." Make a food plan ahead of time each day also. And have it pre bought and set on a schedule to get back on track. Good luck to you, we all support you.

I was in the same situation as you are! So I stopped myself and now Im going to start the 5 day pouch test tomorrow, where you go back like when you first had surgery, to shape ur pouch back into shape! But I would snack on Edameme nuts they are high in protein and it takes the craving away from wanting chips!

I'm stuck with boredom eating syndrome as well. Not sure how to break the cycle. It's easy to stay distracted during the day - always something to do at work or get up and walk around. But at night - between 5pm and 10pm - nothing to do but play games and watch TV.

I've tried playing "bloons tower defense" for distraction but I've been through every level multiple times.

And TV just plain sucks, unless you like History Channel's documentaries on Ancient Aliens or tracking Bigfoot - seriously dude!? On the History Channel? Did you guys run out of real proven history or something?

Oh! And lets not forget, "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo". Now there's quality television for ya... Oops, sorry, wrong group rant meeting. **quietly backs out of room**

It is hard to do but somehow I have ever since I last wrote this. It even took a day or so to sink in after my man told me this. Sometimes the truth hurts but it helped in this case. I also came to realize I am paying a **** ton of money on this and why just waste it.
