blogs/blog-0474356001372733635.jpgOK, my questions is .... how many calories are doc's telling you to consume about 4 - 5 weeks out? I am still on soft foods but was never told by my doc or the NUT (whom I only saw one time) about how many calories to consume. If anyone has that information I would be glad to read about it.

Doc and nut were more interested in Protein, amount of sugar, and fat. I track my exercise, food, and water in myfitnesspal.com. At 3 months, they upped my amount of protein. In August, I have my 9 month checkup. I've lost 75.5 pounds since the end of October. Surgery Nov. 12th. I'm 66 so I lose at a slower weight and I enjoy water aerobics, but hate the walking because of the arthritis in my feet. Still walking my second 5 K in a couple of weeks. Hope that helps. Carol

I asked at my most recent appointment (I'm 3.5 weeks out) and was told "I don't care how many calories you consume, or how much weight you lose! I want you to meet the protein, fluid & vitamin goals and heal!"

The tool isn't fully healed, yet, so work on your minimum goals and the tool will be ready to rock before you know it!

My medical team implied that I should be at about 500-700 calories that far post-op. It sort of happens naturally if you try to get in at least 60 g of protein a day and limit carbs.
