You should. Fit but it will be tight. I weighed 275 and am 5'5". It was always very tight for me. Now at 201 I have plenty of room. You will need an extension for the seatbelt. Ask for one when you board the plane. Also try to get an isle seat. That way you have more shoulder room. Last time I flew I took a picture on the plant holding up the seatbelt showing that I had 3 inches overhang.

What airline are you flying with? Check their "customers of size" policy on their website.

Airline seats are 17 to 18" wide. If you aren't flying with a person who is smaller than you and you can "share" their space (like I did with my little bitty husband), then for your comfort and the people next to you, you probably do want to buy 2 seats. Some airlines will refund the cost of the second seat if the flight isn't full.

Even my arse at 260 and 5'8" is wider than 17" when seated. (to check yours, simply sit on a tape measurer. And it's not just the width of your arse, it's the broadness of your shoulders. If they are going to be over the line and into the next person's seat, then it is best to buy 2 seats (or fly business class if you have airline points or the funds).

It sucks, but it's another "cost" of being obese.

Happy flying!

Unless you are an extreme pear, YES. you will FIT! I am only 5'5" and I flew at 290 and ALL of me fit in the seat with the armrests down. I got a window seat and leaned against the side and did not encroach at all on my seatmate's space. I did not need an extender either. I flew at previously 315 as well and only needed an extender once.

go to seatguru.com and find your airline and flight number and you can see how large the seats are. 18" seats are what I had on my flight with no issues.

I flew first class recently because the last time I flew coach when I got off the plane my whole side was numb, LOL I also purchased my own seat extender so I wouldn't feel embarrassed asking for one. Can't wait to fly coach again with out cramps on the hips.

The last time I flew and didn't need one. I'm 5'7" and weighed 280 and still had room with my seat belt (probably a couple inches). I think you will be fine.

Depends on the airline but I think you will be fine. As a frequent flyer---few tips. Fly during "off-peak" times of the day and days of the week....this will ensure the flight is not packed like a sardine can. Of course, this tip is becoming less valid as airlines reduce the number of flights. Book a window seat...you have a little more wiggle room on the side. Of course, the exit row seats are the best. Be sure to ask for a seat extender when you first get on the plane, before you sit down....ask the first flight attendant you see. The extenders tend to go fast these days. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes....nothing that binds. The seat tray in front of you may not go down all the way....best to test before they offer an in-flight beverage. Again, depends on the type of aircraft.

Smile. Make eye contact. You are a valuable human being and have every right to be there.
