blogs/blog-0596572001368063206.jpgI'm ending day 2 of my "Liver Shrinking Diet" I have to be honest and say that I've been in tears most of it. I started out with my premeire protein drink nd made it into a smoothly with ice and 1/2 a banana. It took me or ever to get it down but I felt satisfied.....until about 2 hours later.

So I decided to have a Cup of cottage cheese for 200 Calories instead of the 160 in protein drink and the 50 in banana. I enjoyed chewing the cottage cheese and took tiny bites practicing hw my post op eating should be. But.... About 2pm I was starving again.

So I tired to fill up on water and iced tea. Chatted with friends online and just quietly cried. I mean SERIOSLY if i was ABLE to eat only 870 calories a day, then I wouldn't be 150 pounds over weight!!

So hubby took me out f the house to get some hanging potted plants for the back yard. We picked him up some baked chicken and veggies etc for His next couple of meals. I asked him to just Not eat any pizza on front of me. He understands and agrees. I've been called by the anesthesia department and just waiting for hosp call tomorrow or Fri with Surgery time. I can and WILL do this. I've lost 6 pounds since Sunday so will def meet my goal of losing 10lb a week before surgery. But I gotta say....it's Not an Easy Road.

P.S.

I'm supposed to have 3 protein shakes a day and added fruit isn't on the list, but I opted to try 2 shakes instead of 3 and add the fruit. (And cottage cheese) Tommorow I'll try to do 3 protein drinks and see how I do. I also bought some plain Greek yogurt to fill in for and shakes I skip.

((Hugs))...this most definitely is not the easy road. You can do this, and that tiny tummy you are about to get will help tons.

Your potted plants are beautiful. Keep going girl :)

And where do you live?? That view is gorgeous!!

I'm a week post op today, and the pre-op diet was harder than anything I've experience post op!

But try to keep your eye on the prize... it will be worth it in the end, and by day 3 or 4 of my pre-op diet, my hunger was completely gone - and hasn't returned yet! ;)

good luck, you will make it! DON'T CHEAT! I know you didn't say you did, but cheating, even a little, keeps you on the hunger train... The trick is to cut out your processed sugars and carbs so that you aren't feeding the beast and still feeling hungry all day. You can do this!! :)

I was supposed to have 3 shakes a day, and clear liquids. Hang on. It is awfully hard for the first 3 days, and if you stick with it, you lose a lot of your hunger. The sugar is out of your system after about 3 days. I wasn't supposed to have fruit, but I did have some sugar free liquids and nibbled some ff yogurt.

Hang in there. IT is hard. But you can do it!

Today was better...sort of. Had my am shake blended with 1/2 banana. Lunch shake plain blended with Ice. Drank couple glasses of water and an ice tea. Then lean cuisine at dinner. Was still hungry so ate a cup of steamed broccoli. Then a couple bites of plain yogurt. I'm still hungry, but heading to bed.

It's hard to go from 2000-3500 calories a day to 900....

have you tried making more with the shakes... I used my food processor... put crushed ice... added milk... shake mix, diet pudding , and mix it up... its like eating ice cream if you do it right... experiment ... don't deprive yourself... make it likable... you can do this... this is the worst part really... good luck and I love your new hanging plants... nice view... :)
