Still not seeing it...?

So, I'm excited to announce I'm over my very first stall, as stressful as it was, and am now officially down 26#! I had no pre-op diet, and was sleeved on 2/28. I'm pretty happy to see these kind of results in 5 weeks, way better than I'd been doing before with just the same ol' diet/exercise routine, The weather is also starting to break so I've been able to get out and hit the pavement...I bought myself a pair of expensive shoes I've been eyeing up for literally a year now...I walked my last pair of shoes right to pieces, and felt it was a good way to reward myself for hitting the 25# mark, while giving myself a tool to keep moving forward with the loss :) I'm pretty excited about it honestly.

That being said- I FEEL a lot better, I'm in a smaller size jeans (Actually 2 sizes smaller from pre-op)...but I still don't SEE it. Today I was out walking with my dogs and my daugher and my own sister drove right past me, after waving and waving she finally turned around and said she didn't even recognize me! It felt great to hear that- but I seriously can't see it in myself...is it that I'm just so mentally warped on my own body image that I can't see the improvement? Is anyone else having this issue? I feel like I look exactly the same, in the mirror, in pictures, etc- I see NO change.....?

Am I crazy??? lol

How long was your stall? I lost 19# in the first 3 weeks. Then last week nothing (which I sorta expected) but now I'm wondering how long I'll get to sit here before it starts moving again.

Nope you are not crazy. At a 20 lb loss, I have had a few comment that my face looks thinner etc. and my pants are certainly looser. When I get on the scale I no longer have to look past my stomach in order to see the numbers. And I don't see it or feel it either. I know a lady who has lost 162 lbs with a lap band. She told me that she never saw herself differently of even felt any different until she hit the 100 lb loss mark.

Yippie.

I am 4 months post op and down 60 lbs. I have gone from a tight size 24 to a 16 1/2 pants. I don't get out that much but people in the immediate family said my face is a lot thinner. My one DIL had not seen me for 3 months and she is the only person that made a big deal out of it. It made me feel really good. We see ourselves in the mirror every day so that is why we do not see it. Others that are over weight in my family and my best friend don't say too much. I guess they are jealous or think it is so easy for us. Little do they know. This is just as hard as regular weight loss but we do get full and I guess that is the secret.

I had my surgery the day after yours. I am in a stall right now too. Sitting at 25lbs down. It is so frustrating. And I dont see it either, but others are raving... Oh well! I will take it!
