This has been one hell of a ride. I've been both excited and depressed just the same. I am here to tell you weeks 2 and 3 are literally the hardest. At this point your tired of liquids, see a few stalls, and have all these thoughts that maybe, just maybe, this surgery isn't gonna work for you. And I'm telling you, I have felt all these things. On the plus side I did weigh in this morning and hit my one month post op goal 10days early!!! Yay for me!... Here are my stats:

Starting weight: 256lbs

Day of Surgery: 247lbs

Day I left from Hospital: 258lbs

3 weeks post op: 230.2lbs

I honestly didn't plan on seeing that weight until one month post op.. But 26 pounds down in the first 3 weeks with a stall in between.. I won't complain. Hope everyone is doing well as they recover, and for those considering the surgery: do your research! Know what to expect, and come to a point in your journey where you are ready for the rollercoaster because it is one hell of a ride!!!!!

Thanks Tia! I am a week out and is good -- I think anyway -- to know what is coming so that as it does I have information on the fact that this is normal and will go away so I don't have to worry about it when it comes.

You go girl! We shall see this through it's natural course and be better for it!

I completely agree. I must admit that prior to surgery i would read posts about the awful 2 and 3 week post op issues and would silently conclude to myself... that isnt gonna happen to me lol.. serves me right... i was not exempt. But knowing that people have been through it and are doing 100 times better as the weeks progress is such a relief that this too shall pass!

I never heard about the awful 2 and 3 week post op issue. But reading about it just now I'm relieved I'm not alone. I'm in week 3 after surgery and have been depressed lately.

This diet is hard and I want to eat what I used to! It's hard eating lunch with co-workers who, of course, are eating regular food.

Today, one of my co-workers was eating a king-size Snickers and I found myself thinking, "Hey, I could take her!" (Just kidding). ** sigh **

Sounds like a similar experience,I am 3 weeks post-op yesterday and I am really glad to know its not just me and that this stall is normal. I read on another forum that during the "stall" periods loose the scale and bring out the measuring tape, that's where you will the changes. I was excited to start incorporating solids (soft ones of course) but after a few days of trying that I decided to hold back a little bit longer. Liquids just don't aggravate my stomach as much and they still give me sustenance. On a plus side I am back to running every night which really helps keep me feeling balanced. Keep your head up and looking forward.
