6 Months After A Fail Surgery....i'm Thinking I Should Try Again?

Hello All!!! I truly have disconnected my self from this Forum...I couldnt go back to something that reminded me of what I Failed at. About 6 months ago...my surgery failed...my Liver was to big...So my Dr. ended up closing me back....The AMOUNT OF PAIN...I was in...I swore this would never be done again....Today I thought about maybe doing it a second time....IM SOOOOOOO SCARED!!!!! THAT PAIN, THE DISAPPOINTMENT, FAILURE..It's a feeling that still to this day saddens me. My beloved friends had their successful surgeries and they are simply wonderful people...Im so bless they are in my life...My husband was and still is AMAZING!!! Talk about REAL LOVE!!! He help me when I couldnt clean myself or bath, or even get dress...He attended to our toddler who had no idea why I was in so much pain and so sad at the time...Im rethinking about doing this...but their faces, my parents faces, their worries...It scares me to put them throught this again!...But It something that just about everyday runs through my mind!!!! I will keep it in a matter of prayer and have faith maybe the second time around will be a better experience!!

I'm so sorry this happened to you. I wonder if you should seek out a different surgeon this time. Someone who is very confident in their abilities to perform a surgery. Not all surgeons are the same and not all of them are comfortable working on obese patients. Even some bariatric surgeons are not totally comfortable in their abilities so I would look into finding someone who will be able to handle the situation. I do hope you find the right surgeon. This is a life saving procedure!

Thanks all!! I've always had a fatty liver...Diabetes doesnt help..I was 235 now Im at 219...but it's like my old time yoyo diet...it comes and goes...Im condider Obese..But not Morbid...My main reason to do the surgery was to get rid of the Diabetes..and now my sugar are starting to rise again..so it had me rethink about the surgery... I feel like the surgeron now know my history and will be extra precautious to make it work the second time around...I guess I have to restart the process...I will see where it leads me....HEALTHY I HOPE!!

Why didn't they do a scan first before they opened you up? That is what my doctor did. It showed that I have a fatty liver and he instructed me to lose X amount of weight before the sugery, which I did. My husband same thing but he was still big but not so big that they couldn't continue. Ask if they can do a scan the week before so that you don't have to go through that again.

They did do my surgery Laperscope....They had all the information that was needed...but still when they went in they didnt release how ENORMOUS my liver was...They were in shock and actually were scared that I may have liver disease ( Thank God I dont ) but...They stated that it wouldnt of been detected My liver was from my pelvis all the way underneath my breast...and were suprise I didnt feel the weirdness...I told them I had no idea and when you live with it...you get use to feeling the way you do...I did lose 15lb but apparently that was good enough...I Thanks God Im alive they said that they could of puncture my liver and I would of been in the ICU!!! So this time around....SUPER SCARED!!!! I have to be a mother to my toddler and a wife to my husband!!! Im still going back in forth in my head!!!! I even had a panick attack last night from thinking about it so much....HELP ADVICE!!!
