So tomorrow I am 3 weeks post op and I am so tired all the time. I can't seem to get all my protein or my fluids in. I know this contributes to my fatigue. Has anybody else experienced this? Sometimes I wonder what I did to myself. I know that it will get better with time but right now I just need some energy and it's making me depressed. I am happy I got sleeved don't get me wrong and I am optimistic about the future but right now it's tough. When will it get better? Is anyone else experiencing this?

It does take a while. I think it took me a month. Are you taking all of the supplements in the amounts you are supposed to take? You must push the fluids and protein. You must.

I am sure your body is still using energy to heal... Please try to get rest and it is my understanding that pretty much one day POOF, people feel normal all of a sudden. I hope that is you soon. I have no experience to offer since I am not sleeved, but just try to rest. heal heal heal!!!!!

I still feel that way and I am almost 6 months out! I have asked myself the same question- why did I do this to myself? and I can't stand when my daughter tries to be sympathetic because I often feel like it's all my own fault and I shouldn't get sympathy! Due to complications I'm not getting in my protein and just recently have been able to get in close to 48 oz of fluid a day. I'm also all out of protein stores and vitamin and nutrient deficient which makes it worse. If you feel like you're having trouble and feeling worse rather than better- don't be afraid to speak up and talk to your doctor! If you are having complications or just need some dietary advice it's better to get things checked out or fixed before you get ill. Maybe it's just a taste thing or you need a thiamine or niacin supplement, things like that are easy to correct and make a huge difference. Hope you're feeling better soon!

Hi, of course you need your protein, but my Dr. said if it is 1 or the other push the water first. Especially the 1st month. And, are you taking B-12? I am taking 2500 mcg. e. day (am 7 weeks out and have been taking them since day 1) and feel reallky good. Expect to be tired. You just had major surgery, your body is trying to figure out what the heck you did to it. Give it a chance to sort it out. Drink water, work on protein, ask Dr. about B-12. The sublingual cherry flavor is great! Rest & be patient. Good luck.
