my surgeo says 85% of the stomach is removed. this is something you can also find on websites and majority of people say the same thing

The way my surgeon put it is that it isn't the size of the stomach is taken out that matters, it's the part that is left in that does. He put the booie (I know I am spelling this wrong) in and makes the "cut" around that and the rest gets taken out. So it all depends on how big your stomach was to begin with. I got to see my surgery and OMG I couldn't believe how big my stomach actually was!!!

I was told about 80% is the norm. 95% that' seems awfully severe. Is the surgeon out of the country or something? In all the literature I've read about the procedure, the standard is 80-85%.
