So Tuesday the 7th was my last appointment with Dr K, and they turned in my information to my insurance company, now I get to wait. I am a horrible waiter, I actually came home Wednesday and Thursday expecting the letter (fingers crossed) for approval. Well Dr K did say that my insurance usually responds quickly, and I am looking forward to my next steps in this journey. Meanwhile I will keep working out (yuck) I am trying to make it a habit, and monitoring my intake. From what I have been told the more on track and losing weight before your surgery the better off after your surgery you are. I have told my co-workers and my supervisor at work and everyone is being really suportive. This includes my hubs! I am also practicing Journaling my food, I am horrible at it so I just keep trying. Well I am off to check the mail box again...........

CALL!!!!!!!! don't know how to make it any clear. LOL call them Monday dont wait another day! I would call insurance then the Dr's office. I kept in contact weekly making sure things were in order. You dont realize how many times the ball can be dropped and you have to stay on top of everything. I am not blaming the insurance company or the Dr's office but honestly you think of who all they have to deal with. I had to call on test results that were just sitting there at the hospital and not faxed to Dr.'s offfice, I had to stay on top of both. My nurse at the Dr's office heard from me weekly, either by email or calling. I would call her to tell her what test were done and had she received yet. I also had the nurse drop the ball she was suppose to send me a list of items I had to have done and she forgot. I had psyc. eval. done and was waiting, when I called a week later she informed me of the other items I had to have done. She stated it was on the list and I said you did not send that list to me. She was sorry and faxed over same day to me. Luckily I was able to get in for the test within a couple days.

Good Luck!!!!!

I will second the being on track helping with the weight loss. I was at 357 while jumping through the insurance hoops. During that time I was able to loose 34 lbs on on a low-carb high protein diet. Since proteins are of such high importance post-op it seemed the natural way to do it. So I started my 2 week pre-op diet at 323. By my surgery date I was 299, and I am 13 days out and at 275. I strongly believe that already having my body used to losing weight has helped m post op. So start what you can now get your body used to giving up the fat and it will be very beneficial post-op.

    • I’ve used my Xbox for exercise games too and it can be pretty motivating, especially on days when I don’t want to leave the house. Kinect games really do make you move, and after a session with kickboxing or dancing, I always feel like I’ve actually gotten a solid workout. The controller-free setup feels way more natural for workouts than anything I tried on the Wii. Zumba is fun but definitely takes a little time to get the moves right. Lately, when I’m not working out, I spend time trading CS2 skins and finding new guides on this link. There’s a lot of interesting tips if you’re into games outside of fitness too.
    • I'm literally almost crying reading this. Mostly because I'mon this pre-op diet and these last two days have been difficult... but also because I needed this! Thank you! Congrats! And a BIG congrats on quitting smoking a second time! It was hard enough to do it once... So - when I say BIG congrats... I mean BIIIIIG congrats! ❤️

      Einarmige Banditen
