It's crazy, but after I eat, I get really sleepy and need a nap. I-) My stomach get this funny weird feeling while I eat, but I know it's my new stomach getting used to what I'm putting in it. I also get hot as if the furnace was turned on. I know this sounds so crazy, but what gives? Has anyone else experienced this?

Doesn't sound crazy at all to me! I have the exact same reaction, but could find no info about it. I need to take a nap after each meal, even if it's just 15 minutes. I'm four weeks out; hope it ends soon! My nutritionist said she'd never heard of it; that maybe as the blood rushes to your stomach as it does after a huge,( ie. thanksgiving) meal causing the need for a nap; that the body reacts the same to the smaller full stomach. Kind of makes sense, I guess...

Thanks for responding. It sounds like that could be it. I'm 2 weeks out and like you I hope this don't last long because I can't continue to take a nap after every meal. That would look funny to those who are not privy to what's going on. hahaha.

I took a month off work after surgery in early April so I was very in tune with how my body was healing and reacting to my my new dietary restrictions, digestion, etc.

I would have to nap after most of my meals, especially the mid-day and evening meal. I would suddenly feel so tired and I knew I was home to recover, and allowed myself to follow the rythms and not fight them. I came to look forward to my little naps.

At 3 months out, I don't need to nap after my meals anymore. But I do listen to my body much more as I move forward with my weight loss journey.

Thanks Katie, that's what I'm doing, listening to my body and doing what it wants, that way I heal right. It's a new journey and I'm learning as I go to take things slow, I'm in no race, the finish line will be there when I get there just for me. :)

This happened to me during the first few weeks as well. You're getting used to how much you can eat and this is hard. I guess it's better than the alternative if you know what I mean? That happened to me quite enough as well. I am just over 3 months out and can now judge pretty well how much to eat so I don't get miserable or sick. Just give it time.

Thanks Randi. I'm not over eating or over full, I'm just really tired after I eat. I can't eat no more than 2 or 3 oz so I definitely don't go over that as I don't want to hurt myself. I'm just going to listen to my body and when I need to nap I will nap and hopefully soon enough I will have enough energy to start exercising instead of napping.

    • I’ve used my Xbox for exercise games too and it can be pretty motivating, especially on days when I don’t want to leave the house. Kinect games really do make you move, and after a session with kickboxing or dancing, I always feel like I’ve actually gotten a solid workout. The controller-free setup feels way more natural for workouts than anything I tried on the Wii. Zumba is fun but definitely takes a little time to get the moves right. Lately, when I’m not working out, I spend time trading CS2 skins and finding new guides on this link. There’s a lot of interesting tips if you’re into games outside of fitness too.
