My cath came out the day after surgery. I was walking more and in less pain so the Dr ordered to have it removed. The darn drainage bag was removed on day two as well ( OMG IT WAS PAINFUL )

I only had a cath it was removed after my 2nd day went home on the 3rd day! wasnt painful at all! I dint have a drain.

I did not have a drainage tube, only a catheter which was removed the day after surgery.

I know I'm having both and my surgeon usually waits until the following week to remove the drainage tube. I think the cath comes out the day after surgery.

I did not have a drainage tube or a catheter. I was unable to pee for about two days, but I wasn't really uncomfortable because there really wasn't much in me.

I had a drain but no cath for my VSG. It came out on day 3. I had a cath but no drain for my gallbladder removal. Neither one of them hurt to remove; I didn't even know I had a cath until I was being discharged and they removed it. The drain just felt like something uncoiling from my insides--wierd but not painful.

JP drain, no cath and the drain came out the next morning.

No catheter or drainage tube for me. It was hard getting up every hour on the hour to go to the bathroom the same day I had surgery, but I survived.

I had neither as well!

I really hope I don't have to use either one. I had a drainage tube when I had my gallbladder removed and it didn't hurt but was uncomfortable.

Uhhhh...forgive me, but is a catheter that thing they stick up your tee-tee so you don't have to get out of bed to pee-pee???

Yes, that is exactly what it is and trust me, I do not want one either*lol*

I'm ok with the catheter. It doesn't hurt and it makes things so much easier when it hurts to get out of bed. I had one when I had a spinal block for my c-section and could get out of bed for 24 hours. That one went in while I was awake and before I was numb and it wasn't bad. At least they wait to cath you when you're asleep with this surgery.(At least at my hospital they won't)
