I Was Sleeved Yesterday, May 7Th And I Did Great

I was Sleeved yesterday and did GREAT! No nausea, little pain, no gas pain, only some slight pain in my left shoulder which my surgeon said is due to having the drainage tube next to my bronchial tube. Today I walked a LOT and feel GREAT. If anyone has any questions, please just ask. I am ready to share my experience.

Now its ME! I'm anxious and scared!! LOL SO glad you are doing well Vicki!! :)

I just started my pre op diet and have 12 days left. I feel like I'm dying.. terrible. I wasn't prepared for how bad I am feeling.

I sure hope I do as well as you are doing! God Bless!

I think the trick is following all the rules, never cheating, and really have your psyche set before the surgery. The oddest thing did happen to me though because I was so anxious before surgery. I was great in the room, but the second they started wheeling me to the surgery room I started crying and didn't stop until they put me to sleep. I remember thinking "How could I have let food take over my life to the point of having to have surgery?" It was then I decided that food was no longer my master, the Lord God was and I would, from this day forward treat my body as He wanted me to. To all of those who have not yet been sleeved, please feel free to email me and I will answer your questions. I was an outpatient and it was fine (another concern of mine was why do insurance people get extra medical care and private pay people sent home).

What are you eating for your clear liquids?

To answer your question regarding the length of stay. Insurance companies only pay so much and take discounts so the hospital and docs get more money the longer you stay inpatient. Inpatient pays more than outpatient. Usually outpatient procedures pay one flat case rate. A procedure may have cost 3000 but the hospital will only get paid 80 percent instead of 100 percent of the charges.

I'm so happy you are doing well.
