Worried And Concerned

So for the past couple of days (ever since I moved to soft/mush) I've been throwing up/dry heaving like crazy. When I eat or drink something it hurts like a b***h, kinda like somebody shoved a hot poker into my chest area. I would think maybe I had sprung a leak, but I don't have a fever. Has this happened to anybody else? Do ya'll think it might be because my sleeve isn't ready for food yet? I'm kinda concerned and figure if I'm not better by Monday I'll call the doctor.....

Yes I agree. Are you moving too quickly through the stages. Call your doctor because you don't want to get dehydrated. Very nasty.

I had surgery 4/25 and was cleared for soft/moist 5/3 and everything was fine until I tried my new multivitamin which caused me to throw up. Ever since then it's hard for me to get any food or liquid down without extreme pain/throwing up. D*#@n it, I don't want to have to go back to the doctor! I'm supposed to go back to work in four days!

If you're having chest pain your bite size is probably too big. Try eating with a coctail fork and take teeny tiny bites and chew them until they are liquid and almost competely dissolved and see if that helps.

I am pre-op, but I wonder if the upset caused by the multi may not require a couple of days back on liquids to heal the discomfort it caused... then return to mushies, and try a different multi.

So sorry you are going through a difficult phase.

You're not ready yet. Move back to full liquids. Yogurt, puddings, creamy soups and your protein shakes and thinned out cereals. Try again in another week, but try the consistency of purees....fat free refried beans, cottage cheese with pureed fruit, soups. Everyone heals at a different rate.
