Good morning All ,

I had a few questions I am now 10days post op (yeah) , how much protein should I consume in a day. I was told by doctor 3 cups but that doesnt tell me how much protein I should have. Can you tell me the numbers you were given by your doctors. And also how much excercise is one suppose to do a week out and so on. Monday I started a mile a day is this too little ? If their are any April sleevers you mind sharing your weight loss. Thanks everyone seems like I can never get enough info. :)

I'm a March Sleever (3/22), but my Surgeon told me to consume between 50-70 grams of protein a day. As for working out, I was told to just walk for the first 3 weeks. After that I could start adding other exercises - but to stay away from any weight lifting until my next appointment (next week). Right now all I do is walk 2.5 miles 3x's a week, and some beginner Yoga. I also have a NUT that I am required to work with - she call's me weekly - and we discuss issues, concerns, and next steps. If you don't have one, I would highly recommend one that is familiar with the sleeve.

I was sleeved in January and was told 60 grams per day. I drink EAS Protein that is premixed. I love the fudge chocolate one. It is the one I found that I would consistently drink. It comes in 17 grams, 20 grams and 42 grams. Just don't drink it too fast. I found it took me about 5 hours to drink the 42 grams. Now that I am three plus months out I still drink 17 grams every morning. I find that I do not lose any weight if I don't get the protein in.

I was sleeved on 4/23. Protein goal 70 grams. Fluids 64 ounces. Walking at first at your own pace, a mile sounds perfect! Good luck and I agree with ChaCha, you need a NUT to help you along with expert advice. Good luck!

I was told of course the 64 ounces of water and up to 80 grams of protein a day. If you are having a hard time figuring out how much protein you get, try using myfitnesspal.com Remember not to follow their recommendation of carbs, fat etc. but if you track your food, water, etc. that way you can really get handle of everything.

I had a hard time at first documenting my food but during the six months of regular visits, I had to turn in completed daily food, water & exercise journals and it made it so very easy.
