Wedding Dress Blues

Hi Ladies, I am getting married next month and still don't have a dress. I went to davids Bridal to buy one off the rack. I have lost 66 lbs and I still need a size 26 wedding dress but i can wear size 22 pants. This was very disappointing. My question is does anyone have a beautiful dress in a 26 they want to sell or know where I can purchase one off the rack in ohio, chicago, or Indiana? Any help would be great ahving a small vegas wedding. Trying to get rid of at lest 10 lbs in 2 weeks....lol

Thanks for your help.

Congratulations!! I know this may not help much because you want something off the rack, but have you seen the dresses on igigi . com? I absolutely love the entire line and the sizes are more in line with normal clothing.

Do you have an Alfred Angelo store close to you...the plus size collection is amazing. I had to go to 5 davids bridals to find my dress. They all have different stuff in stock and I waited to last minute too.

I have looked online but after going into the store i am not sure what size to order i would hate to pay all that money and the dress does not fit. Plus i am pressed for time. Thanks for the info. Have a good day!

Try looking for a dress from Mexico. They ship quickly and have more options for plus sized brides than american shops. However, make sure to measure yourself and send them the measurements to ensure that the dress will fit. Wedding dresses run extremely small.

I just got married last year. I purchased my dress on igigi.com (see the picture...lol) It was perfect!! My daughter thought I was nuts getting my wedding dress online, but it worked out fine. At the time I was in a size 22 and their sizes run pretty close. I figured worse case I could return it...in the end I didn't have to!

Congratulations on the wedding!!!

holyclothing.com has beautiful plus size dresses, if you are not seeking something traditional. Congratulations on your pending nuptials.

Talk to a good seamstress in your area, and have her confirm how long she would need to make some size adjustments on a specific dress, then order a nice dress that has easy lines to tailor. Your seamstress may even be able to offer you a list of garments for sale - and be able to take it up. Don't hesitate to ask.

Good luck. I tried to get married in kakhis and bare feel but was overuled by all...

I have a dress I got from David's Bridal that is a size 24. It is strapless and is now one of their most popular dresses because it is on their commercials. I am looking to sell it. I also have another wedding dress I believe is a size 22 that is ivory and off the shoulder. (Could not make up my mind)
