I Can Resist Anything, Except Temptation!

Phoenix Rising

Hi Everyone,

Ok, ok, it is confession time. From the title of this entry I think most of you will be able to guess what I am going to admit.

Yesterday my sister in law baked her very own hot cross buns. :D Mmmmmmmmmmmmm, they smelt so good and she did offer me one.(She doesn't know about my surgery) I know I shouldn't have but I just couldn't resist them. I choose the tiniest one there and toasted it and then to compound my actions smothered it with butter. I would love to tell you it was awful, I was sick and all sorts of terrible things happened. It wasn't, I wasn't and it was just fantastic. I chewed tiny mouthfuls really slowly and savoured everyone. It was just wonderful. I had no problems eating it at all.

Today I feel guilty, and have decided that in future I must wait until I am further out from my surgery before I do anything like that again. However, saying that, I was relieved to know that my stomach could cope with the small bun especially moistened with butter. (I know, all that fat) oooh it was good. I am also relieved to know that when I am with company no one will ever realise that I have had surgery unless I inform them. They all thought I was eating slowly to savour it, and because I have been dieting they think my stomach is smaller and that is why I am having smaller portions. (Well, they are almost correct).

Is it wrong to keep people in the dark? I know some of my extended family can be so judgemental, and I would rather they just don't know. I may change my mind later on in my journey, but right now this is one little secret I can hug to myself.

Hoping to be better behaved and not give in so easily in future.

Phoenix

Oh how funny....I am glad you tolerated it well...As far as your surgery...none of their business...your new sleevina is a tool not a quick fix it... you are the one losing the weight! we all make mistakes...be easy on yourself.

Happy Easter

Is it wrong to keep people in the dark? Of course not! What you share with others is your own choice.

I have chosen to tell my people, because I want to have their support and understanding when my whole world begins to change. I live alone, and want to know that I can call any of my friends and family after surgery and know that they will understand where I am and come running if I need them. They have seen my weight struggle these past decades, and I cannot fathom that they would begrudge me a long-term solution. So far, the only response that was less than enthusiastic was from a friend who has her own fear of surgery.

If you know you won't find that support in your family, there is nothing wrong with keeping it to yourself and allowing them to witness your transformation with awe. Enjoy the journey!

    • I’ve used my Xbox for exercise games too and it can be pretty motivating, especially on days when I don’t want to leave the house. Kinect games really do make you move, and after a session with kickboxing or dancing, I always feel like I’ve actually gotten a solid workout. The controller-free setup feels way more natural for workouts than anything I tried on the Wii. Zumba is fun but definitely takes a little time to get the moves right. Lately, when I’m not working out, I spend time trading CS2 skins and finding new guides on this link. There’s a lot of interesting tips if you’re into games outside of fitness too.
    • I'm literally almost crying reading this. Mostly because I'mon this pre-op diet and these last two days have been difficult... but also because I needed this! Thank you! Congrats! And a BIG congrats on quitting smoking a second time! It was hard enough to do it once... So - when I say BIG congrats... I mean BIIIIIG congrats! ❤️

      Einarmige Banditen
