Gas

So far I haven't had THAT much pain with gas. This morning -post-op day 5, I got up and moved around a bit and I almost couldn't breathe ! I had a HUGE gas bubble in my diaphram area. It is still there but has settled down a bit . Is that normal ? How long can I expect random "gas bubble attacks?"

This may happen for a while. The best thing to do , is to sip, sip, sip and walk, walk, walk... The occassional Gas-X strips also help. I had the same problem when I was in the hospital for 2 day, and then when i came home. Finally after a few days, I was able to burp and pass gas and pass gas (sorry). But really, you have to get it to move. Some folks have recommended massaging that area where it's trapped (not too firm -but with just enough pressure). Also make sure that you aren't "drinking" anything that might be gas producing. I had to try different protein drinks until i found one that didn't make my stomach gurgle. There are probably many other recommendations, but those worked for me. So.. sip and sip and walk and walk!

Thanks I am trying to do all of that. I am so so tired of sipping right now !! I am not feeling great today so I did go take a nap earlier. I am up and down all day long so hopefully that helps ! Thanks for the reply . I have skim milk and protein powder can't drink much though, I did find the colder the beverage it causes some pain, weird..
