I Can't Believe I'm On My Way!

So very much has happened since my last blog in November. I suppose I got rather frustrated at times which is probably a normal way to feel when one is trying to get something so life changing scheduled. When I realized that being sleeved by the end of the year wasn't going to happen, I relaxed a bit and just decided to enjoy the wait as much as possible. To make a long story short, my insurance did not cover my surgery so I ended up being self pay. That's ok. I don't care. I had my sleeve done on Monday, March 5, 2012. I barely one week out, so I still have a lot to learn. I am so very happy tho. I don't care how fast or slow my weight comes off. It's coming off. That's enough for me!!

That is such a beautiful attitude to have going into such a lifestyle change. I feel the same way! I am being sleeved on this Thursday and I'm excited to get to the point where my knees don't hurt and I don't get short of breath going up the stairs. I look at this as a wonderful blessing for me, because I have lost weight really well before (90 lbs) only to slowly gain over half of it back. I, like you, don't care how long it takes me, because now we have a fantastic tool to help us finally get there and stay healthy.

Wow girls, I am so with you...I have been using perkecet for knee/back pain for the past 2 yrs....finally made the decision to be sleeved on 2/27/12 and as of today I am down 26 l.b.s and have not used a perk for over a week...even just 26 lbs makes a huge difference on the knees....walking still pains my hips, last night I went to a community play production and climbed 3 flights of stairs to the theatre.

I am ready to start shrinking, glad to have you ladies join the losers bench!

Congrats, Ms. Debi! It's good to see you on here again. I recognize your photo from earlier posts. Hope you heal quickly & have a smooth ride! Keep us posted with your progress! Take extra care of yourself for the next few weeks as you recover! I needed lots of naps & rest after my surgery (for about 4 weeks), but I had also had 3 other surgeries in the same year (my sleeve op was Nov 15, '11), so I think my body was just worn out. Anyway, so happy for you!

Congrats on getting sleeved. It definitely is life changing and in a positive way in many many respects, for me. Take it slow and follow the instructions given and, keep your positive out look!
