I Feel Like I'm Gaining Instead Of Losing

I haven't purchased a scale because I didn't want to be weighing myself every day. I am 24 days post op and not sure if i'm losing like i should. When I had my 2 week appointment I had lost 25 lbs. My clothes don't feel as loose as they should at least to me. My stomach feels like it bloated, my incision still hurts like hell.

I'm having trouble getting all my vitamins in daily, and I need to start exercising. I'm sure that will help me alot. I am still off work and i'm scared to go back for fear no one will be able to tell i've lost weight. Although I do feel really good. I eat chicken turkey and refried beans all the time trying to get the protein in, my nutritionist told me to eat chicken every meal if it stays down. I don't crave the bad foods i used to eat so I think that's a good thing.

Has anyone else felt this way or been through this?

absolutely, but i was addicted to the scale after week 6. I didn't bother weighing myself before that. Now i am staying away from the scale because it was driving me crazy. So I've decided to eat healthy and try not to focus on the scale.

My husband bought some of those devil girl scout cookies from some cute little girl scout. So, I paid him to take them to work and get rid of them. ;) Works for me. He read the nutrition label and seen how much fat 28g was in them and was more than willing. ;)

25 lbs is terrific. Celebrate your accomplishment - it is huge! lift a weight that is 25 lbs and you will feel just how much lighter you are. It's your life, don't worry what co-workers might say or what they might think. What does it matter? Worry gets you no where!

My surgery was 1/17/12 so I think we are at the same stage post-op. I went back to work just under two weeks post-op. I was tired, but it was good to be intellectually stimulated rather than being at home and thinking about....food.

I'm still surprised you are eating solid food. I'm on liquids until 2/14 and then go to the 2 week pureed phase.

Exercise is key. Walk at least every day and if the weather isn't permitting, get up, put some music on and dance or walk in place in your livingroom, lift your knees up high and move your arms around. It will help with your psyche if anything - gotta get the blood flowing.

Think positive proactive thought as they breed positive proactive actions!

Give Thanks!

You may have stalled, its normal while your body figures things out. I'm at that point. I pulled my yoga pants out of the dryer and put them on and they were TIGHT. Then I noticed that my hubby dried them on high heat - they shrunk a little haha.

CAsleeve, thank you so much for your encouraging words. I broke down and got a scale today and it showed I had lost 3 lbs. I don't want to worry myself with how much weight i've lost but the fact that I feel so much better. The weather where I live is cold and crappy but I will turn some music on and dance around the house. I am going to go buy me some weights as well. Again thanks so much.
