I was sleeved 01/18, and I can't seem to get full. I am so hungry that I feel weak. On my diet I can eat beans and mashed potatoes. protein shakes crystal light and popsicles. I'm just not getting enough to eat. Should I be this hungry or am I doing something incorrect. ? Please help i am getting tempted to eat the wrong thing to get full...although i wont but i feel like it!

Any ADVICE WILL HELP.

I wish I could give you some advice. I don't have an appetite at all. I have to set a timer so I can drink. My suggestion is measure your food based on your what the Dr. says and when you feel hungry do something. Take a walk, call a friend, read a book, write here on your blog.

Wishing you the best!

I'm thinking this is more mind hunger than body hunger. It's a big change. I never feel hungry. My stomach never growls. Often I only eat once per day. I would focus on the fluid intake and this should get you over that hump.

I went through the same thing from about all of week 3 and half of week 4. I was hungry all the time. I was already on Prevacid for stomach acid. It wasn’t a craving like head hunger. Some other people were going through the same thing but we couldn’t get anyone to give a decent answer. All I can say is, for me, I ate when hungry (approved foods, like greek yogurt, pureed soup and beans). I never stuffed myself. I never ate too many calories (about 700-800 cals). Now that I am at 5 weeks and 3 days, the intense hunger has gone. I thought the hunger would NEVER go away. Maybe the progression of foods has helped with it.

It sounds like head hunger more than anything. Try to drink some protein every time you feel " hungry" . i know i had some crazy head hunger for the first three weeks after surgery. i messed up and tried to eat normal food. i threw up and had a bad case of the slime's. i learned my lesson. good luck and feel better.

i was always hungry for the first 6 weeks post op then after readin the postings here, I talked to my surgeon's office about taking a PPI (prevacid). That helped with my hunger. Also worked at increasing fluid intake. Hope this helps.
