I know this surgery isn't some miracle thing..I know its a tool in my weight loss trade..but seriously?? I can't help to feel like i put myself, and family, through SO much..I took such huge risks, but im not reaping the benefits. I was 247 DOS 12-19-11 and today I am 231. yesterday i was 229.(yeah, i lose a lb or two, then i gain it) 16-17 lbs sounds good in three weeks, until you realize that most of that was in the first week. I do what I suppose to..except not expecting this weight to come off. I'm so scared that I did this all for nothing.

Don't know if you want this advice or not, but here it is. . get rid of the scale and only weigh yourself at the doctor appointments. The scale is your biggest enemy. I got rid of my scale the minute i came home from the hospital and didn't get another for 1 year. I only weighed at the doctor visits and was very happy with each visit. Good luck!

You wont' lose it over night. Take a deep breath and find some patients. You will look back in a few months and say "OMG where did it all go so fast!" Promise. Hang in there! You'll do great!

It sounds like you are in a stall. This will pass, but I do have to agree with everyone else! You will notice a big difference in a couple of months. Have you measured yourself? Sometimes when in a stall, your body is readjusting and inches are coming off. Relax, continue on with healing.

relax and take a deep breath. Its not a race. Your body is still healing and adjusting. Take the scale and have someone put it somewhere you can't get to for about a month or so. We all do it. We all rely on a piece of machinery run on a 3 dollar battery to tell us if we're doing things right or not. In a month, get the scale, replace the battery and check yourself then. Every day weigh ins should be reserved for maintenance. When you get to your goal weight, weigh in every day or ever 3 days, just to maintain.

If you can lose the scale, GREAT! However, I know the best advice is to lose the scale, but I just never could. I had to remind myself that the scale fluctuates because my body holds fluids some days and other days I have a good poop! Somedays I believed the self-talk and other days I wanted to throw the scale out the window!!!!

But, you are definitely doing great & your body is adjusting a lot in weeks 2 and 3. As another poster said, you are going to look back and go "wow, it really came off quick". It's just hard to believe it when the scale doesn't move.
