1 week out from the surgery. Last visit to my surgeon's office to meet with my Bariatric Dietician, woot, woot, lol. My Hubby came along and asked so many questions, but she did not seem to mind. We went over again what my limitations will be, possible complications, etc. It appears my liver is shrinking, and they were very happy over my BG readings. The night before the surgery I will drop my Metformin tablet, and lower the Victoza shot from 1.8 to .6.

It is creeping up on me! Teh mostly protien diet is sapping some of my strength, but I feel good. I just want this over with!

Good luck! I was on an insulin pump for almost 3 years prior to my surgery. I have not had any insulin since the day of surgery and I only take 1 metformin pill a day. This surgery has been the best thing ever. I so far have lost 31 pounds and I am 7 weeks out. On issue is that my liver numbers have gone up. I don;'t know what caused this but I am working with my Bariatric Doctor. Maybe the lack of minerals and vitamins. I always forget to take my vitamins and they are very important. Keep us posted on your successes!

Sounds like your doing great. I have been on glucafage (msp) these past 6 years, it was beginning to interfere with my kidneys. So i started insulin about 2 months ago :o( I saw my GP today, and he said all is looking good, will have some bloodwork end of january, and prob will be off medicine (also high blood pressure and high cholterol (big time msp) I'm so excited about this.

Sounds like you have a great DH,asking all those questions and stuff :o) my WLS was 12/15/11- so i'm right behind you :o) Take care and see you on the posts.

hope it was ok - to peak at your blog. thanx kathy

Thank you! That is so good to be off your pump! Are you staying hydrated? That can impact your liver readings.

Yay! This is great news. I'm hoping you'll be off all those meds soon. My husband started his B vitamins during his pre-op diet and that helped with energy.
